I live in Baton Rouge, La. all the way at the bottom of the US map. Two things that are certain in Louisiana: Sun and Rain. When it’s hot, it’s scorching, and when it rains, it pours.
Today, it’s mild and humid. The sun is hiding behind a few colossal gray clouds. Every now and then a raindrop can be spotted, but it’s not actually raining. It just looks like rain.
Rain provides the nutrients that seeds require to grow. Farmers rejoice when the rain falls because the rain confirms the promise of the harvest. I sit here this afternoon and on some level, I see the rain. It has yet to fall, but because I know it’s coming, I can already see it. I’m like that farmer with seeds in the soil – I need the rain, therefore I expect the rain.
As promised, the rain is here.
